Hey there,
I’m Lincoln (they/he), a licensed mental health counselor associate here in Washington. I aim to make therapy an open, collaborative space where you can feel comfortable showing up as your whole self. Whether you’re navigating depression, life transitions, past trauma, identity development, anxiety, neurodiversity, relationship issues, or gender/sexuality issues, I seek to help you understand what is and isn’t working for you and support you in making positive change for yourself.
My practice is based on a liberatory framework. I believe many mental health challenges are natural responses to oppressive systems, yet having difficulties is so often seen as a personal failure. Through deconstructing harmful internalized narratives and affirming your own experiences, we can work towards healing and empowerment to help you live the life you want to live.
My approach to therapy is largely person-centered. I see you as the expert of your own lived experience, and show up authentically as a person with my own lived experience. I strive to be non-judgmental and understanding, and enjoy sharing moments of humor and joy in our work together. I also draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a behavioral approach that centers mindfulness to help tolerate distress and act intentionally based on values. Other modalities I use include somatic therapy, existential therapy, and narrative therapy.
I’m particularly passionate about working with people from the LGBTQIA+ community. I’m sex-positive and poly-affirming, and take care to respect intersectional identities. I think our unique differences are what make us beautiful and welcome you as you are.
Outside of work, I’m always listening to music and going to shows. I enjoy playing guitar and piano, hyperfixating on strategy and puzzle games, and spending time in nature whether I’m climbing, paddle boarding, or backpacking.
